GUIDED TOURS AT THE BASILICA OF ST PAUL OUTSIDE THE WALLS
The Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls offers for pilgrims and visitors a service of guided tours suitable for groups or individuals. Reservation required.
It’s possible to choose the next itineraries:
Itinerary 1 (duration 50 minutes)
€ 120,00 for groups of up to 50 people
€ 1,20 for each person (rental headphones)
Itinerary 2 (duration 90 minutes)
Basilica / Cloister / Pictures Gallery / Archaeological Area
€ 170,00 for groups of up to 50 people
€ 1,20 for each person (rental headphones)
Delays of more than fifteen minutes, for which we are not notified at least two hours ahead of time of the tour, cannot be rescheduled.

It is possible to make bookings for Guided Tours every day of the week from 8am to 5pm.
The voucher for the Guided Tour can only be used on the specified day and time and it cannot be refunded.

ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBERS - Administrative Offices – Via Ostiense, 186 06/69880800 - Entrance to the Basilica – Piazzale San Paolo, 1 06/45434185 (Sacristy) On the Metro Line B heading for ‘Laurentina’, get off at ‘San Paolo Basilica’ From Leonardo da Vinci Airport (Fiumicino) Take the Leonardo Express train to Termini Station, then follow the instructions above taking the Metro Line B to ‘San Paolo Basilica’ Take the Terravision bus to Termini Station, then follow the instructions above taking the Metro Line B to ‘San Paolo Basilica’. A taxi ride from either airport will take approximately 40 minutes. Line B heading for Laurentina, get off at ‘San Paolo Basilica’ – we are approximately three minutes away on foot. No 23 (Pincherle/Parravano) - Get off at the stop marked ‘Ostiense /LGT S.Paolo’ There is ample parking in Piazzale San Paolo and in Via Ostiense All areas of the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls, including the Exhibition Area (Cloisters and Pinacoteca) and the souvenir shop are accessible to disabled visitors. A number of wheelchairs are also available for free by booking ahead of time on 06/69880800 Blind or partially sighted visitors may be accompanied by guide dogs, as long as the dogs are kept on a lead with a muzzle at all times. There is an information desk at the entrance to the Cloisters (Oratorio di San Giuliano) which can offer help and advice to visitors, as well as information on events that are taking place in the Basilica. The desk is open daily from 8am to 6pm. A self-service bar and machines for coffee, cappuccino, tea, cold drinks and snacks can be found at the exit to the Exhibition Area, just before the toilettes, in front of the so- called ‘archeological walkway’. A First Aid service is available next to the bar and coffee machines. Situated at the entrance to the ‘archeological walkway’, the toilettes are accessible by wheelchair and also include baby changing facilities in the ladies toilettes. There is a shop at the exit to the extra-territorial complex of the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls where you can purchase souvenirs including books, maps, guidebooks, rosaries, icons, paintings, mosaics, pottery, etc. It is forbidden to bring any alcoholic drinks into the Basilica. Food and drink must be left at the entrance and collected again within the day. It is severely forbidden to touch any of the works of art in the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls or surrounding areas. CCTV cameras and an electronic alarm system are in use at all times. The use of microphones or amplifiers is also forbidden Please note that visitors who are unsuitably dressed will not be allowed entrance into the Basilica, the Cloisters, the Pinacoteca or any of the areas surrounding the Basilica Photography is permitted in the Basilica and surrounding areas with the use of hand-held cameras and videos only. Permission for tripods or any other professional equipment must be requested ahead of time at the Administrative Offices The use of mobile phones is permitted but we kindly ask you to turn off the ring tone during all liturgical functions and to respect the peace and quiet of all those taking part in the celebrations.
